Prepping for Black Friday with Shoebuy!
Once a year, thousands of people participate in the shopping event that has them sitting in the cold only several hours after having their fill of turkey, testing their strategy skills with store layouts, and bonding over some shared hot cocoa from strangers next to them in line. In case you choose to sleep in after Thanksgiving (although I have no idea why you would want to do that), I am talking about the epic holiday shopping day called Black Friday.
Every year my family and I grab several newspapers, sprawl out in the living room, and begin to plan the best gifts to grab, break up into teams, and arrange check points along the way (Why, yes- we are a little bit insane about Black Friday). Among these plans, the excited chatter and folded pages in the store ads, one thing is certain- we always remember to dress appropriately for the long night and morning ahead of us.
Out of all the attire to accomplish our Black Friday shopping, having perfect footwear that holds up to the standing, running (yes, you read that correctly), and sometimes wet weather that we endure during the early morning hours is crucial to success. Check out some of the newest running shoes that will be sure to get you in, out, and onto the next store without missing a door buster.
You also don’t want to forget bags and carts. As an experienced Black Friday shopper, I know that having my own reusable bag and cart saves valuable time that would have been wasted if I struggled to wait for the store’s carts, or the cashier bagger that is still waking up. Why not also do a favor for the planet by having a reusable bag on hand? Check out some of my favorites:
Even if you are as serious a Black Friday shopper as me, it is always important to remember the things that really matter on this holiday. Taking away all the TVs and laptops, giveaways, and discounted wrapping paper, there is a special bond that you make with the people around you- the anxious families waiting in line for their first time, the workers that have the patience of a saint, and the crazy guy that was waiting in line at 6PM Thanksgiving night (I may be devoted, but I’ve sadly never been that guy). Remember to keep things safe and enjoy the time you have with your fellow shoppers that morning, and dress like a champion.
And if you were unlucky, or overslept, there’s always Cyber Monday! Happy shopping
