Treat Your Feet Warmly
Just like any other person that has endured the blustering climate of the Northeast, I long for the time that I can finally step foot indoors after a long walk home. Sometimes, it doesn’t even matter where I step foot into- as long as I can begin to thaw out. After numerous times of walking against the wind, covering every patch of skin possible except the two centimeters for my eyes, and finally going numb, the best part of my day is walking through my door where I know heaters, sweatpants, and blankets await.
The best part of my thawing process? Making sure my feet are wrapped up and bundled to ensure I can begin to feel them again. After all, feet are among the first and most common body part to get frost bite. Other frequently “bitten parts” are hands, nose, and ears, which should also be taken well care of.
Some of the best remedies (besides tea, a nice fire, and the best chick-flicks TV can provide) are the most basic ones- get some cozy footwear on your feet after a cold day, and begin to feel the ice and numbness melt away. check out some of my favorites that are perfect for the holiday season:
Although this Aroma Home sock make look like a frightening sock monster, throw the little guy in the microwave for some instant warmth and therapeutic comfort.
Don’t forget about some extra padding for those of you that are on your feet all day. Slippers are the answer to every teacher, waiter, and nurse that stands much too long than for what they’re being paid. Here are some hot winners in the slipper department:
One thing is certain- be responsible for your body from your ears to your toes (frost bite doesn’t just happen in the spur of the moment!). But just in case it is even colder than you expected, you can count on snuggling up with some Shoebuy goodies that will have you forgetting the single-digit temperatures outside in no time.
