Frizzy hair can be somewhat troublesome

Frizzy hair can be somewhat troublesome, especially if you have curly hair. It is the ultimate non sexy hair, which so many girls are constantly battling with. The next time you decide to stick your hair up in that dreaded ponytail or bun and reach for that hat, remember that there are many ways to maintain and manage straight silky hair.
Frizz is most often caused by dehydration, damage and the weather. With autumn on the out and winter coming fast, the extreme change in temperature between the outdoors and indoors dries out your hair.
As a frequent victim to frizz myself I find the best place to start is in the shower! I start with using a moisturising and nourishing shampoo and then an extreme hydration conditioner or hair mask. Many of these products are widely available at your local supermarket and brands such as John Frieda have a whole range of products aimed at frizz calming from shampoos to serums.
Before you dry your hair apply a serum to smooth your hair, such as a frizz free serum or a straightening balm, and this will help to lock in more moisture.
When it comes to drying to your hair be sure not to rub it, but instead pat it dry. Rubbing it vigorously can cause the hair to break leaving split ends. With frizz prone hair it always best to use a comb. A brush will create too much static energy in your hair.
The easiest, safest and cheapest way to tame the unruly frizz is to straighten your hair using a pair of ghd straighteners.
For the best results I would advise starting with dry hair. Take small segments of your hair and place between the paddles. Run the iron slowly from the roots to the tip of your hair. Try not to pull too hard which can snag the ends of your hair. If the ends of your hair still appear to be frizzy, just hold the straighteners on a little longer.
It also important to remember that heat styling can be damaging for the hair with frequent use, so make sure you invest in a good heat protection spray! Get more tips and information from the ghd blog, which you can find at http://social.ghdhair.com/
