Vivienne Westwood Launches New Ethical Handbag Collection

British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood is once again using her talents for a cause. Named one of the best vegan accessory designers from W Magazine, this week her Autumn/Winter 2011 collection was launched at Pitti Immagine in Florence for the Ethical Fashion Project in Africa. With new styles and exclusive designs, the collection is all about celebrating style and empowering women to make a difference.

Exclusive to online retailer Yoox “the line is handmade in Nairobi from 100 percent recycled materials, including roadside advertisement banners and old canvas safari tents,” according to Ecouterre. Additionally, Westwood and Yoox are working with the United Nations International Trade Centre to create sustainable employment while creating one-of-a-kind pieces that are also eco-friendly. The Ethical Fashion Africa Collection is available for men and women.
